In the Tram Museum the hivernal season means not a “dead season” for everybody ! As proof: 260 destination plates (out of 291) have been placed on one of our walls in order to illustrate how many tram lines have circulate in Brussels since the numbering of the lines in 1905. For every number, two plates have been chosen: the most oldest and the most recent. A lot of plates are originals from our collections but others have been reproduced exactly, thanks to the documentation collected by one of our volunteers. After a long preliminary phase, some volunteers have been mobilized during a couple of days for the placement of the plates. As you can see on the pictures, all the practical aspects have been discussed in order to optimize the operations … and to limit the efforts of our (retired) volunteers !
