In 1950-51, 416 trailers dating from the period 1927-1931 were rebuilt to give homogeneous convoys with the “standard” motor cars. The classical configuration of pre-war vehicles (free access by the end platforms) has been replaced by an entrance and a large platform at the front, an exit in the middle and a single compartment at the rear. Pneumatic doors have been fitted to the accesses and a fixed conductor’s seat installed. To measure these modifications, compare trailer 102 with 2118, restored in its original guise.
