Even though we have a few more days of winter left, we are already preparing the 2017 high season! It starts on April 1st and lasts until Sunday October 1st.
The opening hours are the same as the previous years: our doors are open for you on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 1 PM to 7 PM. On Wednesdays you can come by from 1 PM to 5 PM (however, our historical vehicles do not run on Wedensday). Our “Retro Shop” will offer you its newest assortment of books and objects related to public transport, at the entrance of the Museum you can buy drinks and small snacks.
Two things are new this season, do not miss them! First of all, our Tram Museum – Cinquantenaire” line, which was closed 3 years ago due to roadworks, will be back in service. Our “Chocolate trams” will take you to Cinquantenaire Park and several museums in the neighbourhood on Sundays and public holidays.
Furthermore, our Brussels Tourist Tramway or BTT (which runs every Sunday) is subject to a few modifications. The reservation system will be simplified and automated. But above all, the BTT will follow a different trajectory with a longer (and better) break at Schaerbeek station, thanks to a partnership with the “Train Hostel“. If you would like more information on the BTT, please click here.
Do not hesitate to check out out detailed calendar and opening times on our practical information page. As usual, during high season there are a number of events you cannot miss:
- Saturday 29 April: large flea market with public transit related objects and pictures, organized by MupDoFer asbl in the offices of Merode metro station. There will be a shuttle bus between the Museum and Merode.
- Monday 5 June (Whit Monday): special heritage trips, theme still to be determined
- Sunday 18 June: “Point vert” ADEPS walks of 5, 10, 15 or 20 km with the Museum as starting point
